Dear Ones, through my hurt and my tears I send you deepest thanks for all your prayers and words of support. Please check in after a few days and I will announce a date for the event at which we will celebrate Skip's life and all the joy and support he gave us. I'm simply hurting too much to call you yet but I am so touched by your email messages and your blog comments.
In about a month we will have a party to celebrate his life. That is definitely the way he would have wanted it. I will let you know as soon as I can schedule the right time — probably a Sunday toward the middle of September.

I'm shocked and saddened by this turn of events Jackie.
I woke up quite early this morning and thought to turn to your blog and see how you were all doing, having worked a really intense job the last two weeks through Sunday;and not had a chance.to check.
I want you to know I Love you all very much.
Skip was truly a noble and gentle man.
I assume since I've got no email from Jerry or anyone they are as unaware as I. I will notify them now including Stephanie who is in North Carolina with her dad.
For her and our kids I send you all our love.

Dear Jackie and family,
I too am in disbelief and deep sadness that Skip is gone. Like Cory said, he was definitely a favorite dad; so warm and gentle and present with everyone he interacted with. My heart goes out to all of you. He left us much, much too soon and will be so missed. I am so sorry for your loss-- I love you guys.
